Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, also recognized as Wuhan Union Hospital of China, has announced plans to transfer its invention patent, titled “A Primer Probe Combination and Kit for Detecting Common Mutation Sites in Hereditary Thrombophilia Based on ARMS-PCR Method,” to Kingmed Diagnostics (SHA: 603882), a Guangdong-based independent medical laboratory, for a sum of RMB 12 million (USD 1.66 million).
Advanced Mutation Detection Technology
The kit in question is designed to feature primer probe combination sequences that enable rapid detection of 11 common mutation sites across five key genes: PROC, PROS1, F5, THBD, and SERPINC1. This advanced technology offers a significant advancement in the field of genetic testing, particularly for hereditary thrombophilia, a condition that increases the risk of blood clots.
Ease of Use and Rapid Results
Designed for ease of operation by medical staff, the kit is poised to be widely adopted in hospitals and testing centers. It promises to deliver results within 2-3 hours, making it a valuable tool for quick and accurate diagnosis. The transfer of this patent to Kingmed Diagnostics signifies a strategic move to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of genetic mutation detection in clinical settings.-Fineline Info & Tech
