The Healthcare Security Administration (HSA) bureau of Hubei province has released a notification outlining plans to lead a nationwide allied volume-based procurement (VBP) tender focused on patented traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs). This initiative aims to streamline the procurement process for these essential medicines across participating regions.
Procurement Cycle and Agreements
The procurement cycle is set to be two years, with the possibility of one-year extensions in certain cases. Procurement agreements will be signed annually. The tender includes a total of 42 varieties, with compound mylabris, FuFangXueShuanTong, Guanxinning, and Cinobufotalin being among the affected items.
Filing Manufacturers and Requirements
Manufacturers interested in filing can visit the official procurement website for data. In addition to meeting quality standards, production capacity, supply stability, and credit evaluation requirements, filing manufacturers must also accurately report the maximum production capacity of each product in the supply alliance region for the next year. The reported production capacity must align with historical actual sales volumes to ensure it meets the procurement needs of winning bids in the alliance region.
National Alliance Led by Hubei
Hubei is leading a national alliance consisting of 30 provinces/regions, with Hunan being the only non-participating region. The alliance covers a broad geographical range, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, and other provinces and autonomous regions, extending to the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
