German healthcare giant Siemens Healthineers (ETR: SHL) has partnered with the China Chest Pain Center to launch the “Rising Star smart chest pain center standardized construction training program.” This initiative is designed to enhance the standardized construction of chest pain treatment processes and improve clinical intervention diagnosis and treatment capabilities. The collaboration follows their 2019 agreement to promote the construction and certification of county-level chest pain centers in China.
Addressing the Prevalence of Heart Disease in China
In 2021, heart disease was the leading cause of mortality among both rural and urban residents in China, posing a significant threat to public health and imposing a substantial economic burden on patients’ families and society. As of February 2023, over 5,400 medical institutions in China have established chest pain centers, with 2,241 having received certification. Additionally, there are 30 provincial chest pain center alliances and 225 municipal chest pain center alliances.
Project Goals and Timeline
The project has set ambitious goals to be achieved within five years: establishing a standardized training expert group for smart chest pain centers, developing “smart chest pain center standards,” and promoting standardization construction. It also aims to set up a demonstration center for the construction of county-level medical smart chest pain centers, conduct 12 county-level medical training sessions with 500 trainees, and organize a hospital sharing meeting on the construction of county-level medical smart chest pain centers for outstanding trainees.-Fineline Info & Tech
