Guangzhou-based biotech ApolloBio has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Baidu Health. Under this partnership, Baidu will provide innovative digital support to enhance ApolloBio’s marketing activities, particularly for protective products related to infectious respiratory diseases. This includes an IgM nano immunoglobulin protective spray, known as a ‘liquid mask’ type nasal spray.
ApolloBio’s Nasal Spray for Respiratory Protection
ApolloBio’s nasal spray, launched in December 2022, was initially designed for protection against COVID-19. The product is a result of a joint development effort with the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The main component of the nasal spray is IgM nano immunoglobulin in the form of pentamer, which offers higher prevention efficiency compared to traditional IgG immunoglobulin. Clinical trials have demonstrated that the spray binds to infectious respiratory viruses and forms a protective layer on the skin and mucous membranes, blocking infections for up to 24 hours.

The collaboration with Baidu Health is expected to boost the visibility and accessibility of ApolloBio’s nasal spray, leveraging Baidu’s digital expertise to reach a wider audience.
