JD Healthcare, a unit of China’s e-commerce giant JD.com (NASDAQ: JD), released its 2022 financial report, showing total revenues of RMB 46.7 billion (USD 6.84 billion), a 52.3% increase year-on-year (YOY). As of December 31, 2022, the platform had more than 154 million annual active users, with healthcare daily inquiries exceeding 300,000.
Expansion of Retail Pharmacy Business
During the period, JD Healthcare’s retail pharmacy business continued to strengthen its operation model, combining self-operation, an online platform, and an omni-channel layout. Self-operation business revenues reached RMB 40.4 billion (USD 5.92 billion), up 54.2% YOY. The online platform hosted over 20,000 third-party merchants. The omni-channel layout focused on “extremely fast consultation + quick drug delivery,” with the launch of the “JD to home” platform, which was subscribed to by more than 70,000 sellers as of December 31, 2022.
Enhanced Supply Chain and Digital Marketing
JD Healthcare significantly ramped up its omni-channel medical and healthcare supply chain system and digital marketing in 2022. The company upgraded partnerships with major firms such as Omron Healthcare, Beilu Pharma, Sanofi, and AstraZeneca. In supply chain business, JD Healthcare assisted pharmaceutical companies in accelerating the launch of new and special drugs, providing C2M reverse customization and “physical + service” health management solutions. Notable launches included Hua Medicine’s dorzagliatin, Bayer’s Vitrakvi (larotrectinib), and Chia Tai Tianqing’s anlotinib (trade name: FOCUS V).
Innovative Healthcare Services and Solutions
JD Healthcare continued to develop its innovative medical and healthcare service platform to meet diverse user needs. Three online consultation services were launched, an offline JD Healthcare hearing center store was opened, and the “enterprise health strategy” for enterprise customers and employee health service solutions was introduced, along with the “digital intelligent medicine” solution system.
