NMPA Designates Shijiazhuang Airport as Drug Import Port for Narcotics, Psychotropics

China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has designated Shijiazhuang Airport in Hebei Province as an official drug import port, following approval from the State Council. The move allows the import of select Chinese medicines, chemicals, narcotics, and psychotropic drugs through the airport.

Port Responsibilities
The Shijiazhuang market administration bureau has been renamed the “port medical products administration,” overseeing drug imports at the airport. The Hebei Institute for Drug and Medical Device Control will conduct inspections, ensuring compliance with national standards.

Strategic Implications
The designation enhances Shijiazhuang’s role in pharmaceutical logistics, streamlining import processes for critical medications. It marks a key step in China’s efforts to optimize drug supply chains and improve access to regulated substances.-Fineline Info & Tech
