Reckitt’s New Shanghai R&D Center to Boost Innovation in Health and Hygiene Products

Reckitt (LON: RKT), a UK-based manufacturer of consumer health and hygiene products, is planning to invest RMB 300 million (USD 41.7 million) in a new global research and development center in Shanghai, China. The facility, which will span 8,000 sq. m., is located within the Caohejing High-Tech Park in Shanghai’s Minhang district and is anticipated to be operational by 2026.

Reckitt’s CEO, Kris Licht, has highlighted the strategic advantages of situating the R&D center in Shanghai, referring to it as a “hub of technology and innovation as well as the commercial center of our China business.” Licht expressed his aspirations that the center “will enhance our business through more scientific collaboration, capabilities, and talent development.” The new site will focus on the development and manufacturing of key consumer health brands, including Durex, Dettol, Movefree, and Finish.- Flcube.com
