Germany-based life sciences giant Merck KGaA has launched the Uptune program in Asia, offering up to €100,000 ($101,000) to startups in healthcare, life science, electronics, and smart manufacturing. The initiative aims to identify early-stage companies and support proof-of-concept studies, pilot projects, and partnerships with Merck.
Program Details
Uptune is open to startups in digital health, semiconductor materials, cellular assays, cell and gene therapy tools, and supply chain innovation. Applications are accepted until September 4, 2022, with the program commencing in November.
Building on Success
The program follows Merck’s China Accelerator, launched three years ago with €50,000 ($50,500) grants. That initiative enrolled 30 startups, 60% of which partnered with Merck, highlighting the value of strategic collaboration.-Fineline Info & Tech
