EU Bars Chinese Medical Device Makers from Public Tenders Over €5M for Five Years

China Central Television (CCTV) reported that EU member states have voted under the International Procurement Instrument (IPI) to exclude Chinese medical device manufacturers from participating in EU public tenders valued over EUR 5 million for the next five years.

Chinese Ministry of Commerce Responds
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that the EU’s decision constitutes discriminatory measures. It harms the interests of Chinese enterprises and undermines fair competition by using unilateral tools and erecting new trade barriers. The ministry emphasized that China firmly opposes such protectionist practices and will closely monitor the EU’s next steps. It also indicated that necessary measures will be taken to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.-Fineline Info & Tech
