China-based gene sequencing specialist MGI Tech Co., Ltd. announced a collaboration with Italy’s Negedia to promote access to its DNBSEQ-powered genomic sequencing and Stereo-seq spatial transcriptomics technologies. This partnership aims to accelerate progress in precision medicine and biomedical research in Italy.
Negedia’s Background
Negedia, established by the Italian research charity Telethon Foundation, is the first STOmics-certified spatial transcriptomics service provider in Italy. STOmics, MGI’s spatial omics research brand, features the core Stereo-seq platform. This platform offers nanometer-level resolution, a 13cm×13cm field of view, and subcellular whole-transcriptome profiling while preserving tissue integrity. It has been applied in cancer research, neurodegenerative disorders, and developmental biology.
Collaboration Details
Under the agreement, Negedia has acquired MGI’s DNBSEQ-T7 ultra-high-throughput sequencer to enhance sample processing capacity and spatial omics analytical capabilities. The integrated solution enables the generation of high-resolution spatial transcriptomic data and advances multi-omics applications in Italian research and clinical practice.-Fineline Info & Tech
