Boehringer Ingelheim (BI), a leading German pharmaceutical company, has joined forces with the World Health Organization (WHO) Foundation in a significant pledge to enhance access to quality healthcare services for all, particularly targeting vulnerable groups in the Americas who face a heightened risk of suicide. The commitment involves a substantial financial contribution of USD 5 million from BI to WHO’s Fourteenth General Program of Work, which extends from 2025 to 2028, and is part of WHO’s Investment Round.
This collaboration aims to bolster mental health initiatives, underscoring BI’s dedication to improving global health outcomes. In addition to the WHO Foundation partnership, BI is also backing various private initiatives that align with its mission. One such initiative is the Friendship Bench, an evidence-based mental health program in Zimbabwe that engages grandmothers as volunteer therapists, offering a unique and impactful approach to mental health support.- Flcube.com
