Chinese internet conglomerate Tencent has announced via its anti-fraud department’s official channel that former employees Zhang Meng and Liu Yunting from the Cloud and Smart Industries Group (CSIG) have been handed over to public security authorities. The two are suspected of misusing their positions to embezzle company assets and to seek personal gain for external firms during their time at Tencent.
Zhang Meng, during his tenure at Tencent, served as the vice-president of Tencent Healthcare, primarily in charge of nurturing digital medical innovation projects and creating digital solution platforms for pharmaceutical and medical enterprises. Liu Yunting held various roles, including director of the Tencent Healthcare information product center and general manager of Tencent’s smart medicine industry.
Additionally, the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System website shows that Tencent Healthcare’s Chengdu Tencent Internet Hospital Co., Ltd is scheduled for cancellation, with a notice period from February 4 to February 24. The reasons behind the online hospital’s shutdown remain unclear. Established in March 2021 with a registered capital of RMB 10 million, the company’s scope of business included internet hospital services based on physical hospitals, online information services for drugs, medical equipment, and TCM health care. Relevant administrative licenses indicate that their service offerings encompassed general medical departments, internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and more.
In a separate development, another online hospital operated by Tencent Healthcare in Hainan filed a written application for the cancellation of its online drug information service qualification with the Hainan Medical Products Administration “due to internal reasons” in April 2023, which was granted approval.- Flcube.com
