The National Health Commission (NHC), National Disease Control and Prevention Administration, and National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China have jointly issued the “Key Central Township Health Center Construction Reference Standards.” The policy aims to select 1 to 2 central township health centers that will be equipped to provide services on par with Class 2 general hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These key central township health centers will be expected to offer inspection, testing, and remote medical services to surrounding township health centers. They will also provide a comprehensive range of services including diagnosis and treatment of common diseases, rehabilitation, emergency first aid, traditional Chinese medicine, preventive healthcare, health management, and specialized health services for local residents. Additionally, these centers will support surrounding township health centers through expert visits, personnel training, joint ward rounds, technical training, and on-site observation, with the goal of enhancing the medical and public health service levels in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The centers will be tasked with responsibilities such as public health, emergency relief, and medical material reserves. After a construction period of 3-5 years, these centers are projected to handle more than 15% of the annual diagnosis and treatment visits and over 10% of the hospitalizations compared to local county hospitals. The bed utilization rate should meet or exceed the average level of local township health centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
