In alignment with the [2023] No. 75 Document by the National Health Commission, the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission has released a set of regulations aimed at correcting unhealthy practices in the field of pharmaceutical purchasing and sales and medical services within the city for the year 2023. The document mandates the completion of self-inspection, self-correction, supervision, inspection, and verification processing by October 31st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focus Areas for Self-Inspection Activities<\/strong>
The self-inspection activities are concentrated on three key areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Investigation of High-Value Consumables in Medical Institutions:<\/strong>
    The government will conduct a comprehensive investigation and rectification of the use of high-value consumables in departments such as orthopedics, blood purification, cardiovascular medicine, examination, testing, and rehabilitation therapy. Illegal activities including the exchange, fabrication, and piecemeal charging for high-value consumables will be severely cracked down upon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Regulation of Medical Personnel Activities:<\/strong>
    Activities by medical personnel who receive gifts, cash, consumption cards, securities, equity, and other financial products from patients and their relatives and friends during diagnosis and treatment will be seriously dealt with. This includes accepting banquets, travel, fitness, entertainment, and other activities arranged or paid for by them, as well as receiving rebates and commissions from medical equipment, drugs, reagents, and other production and operation enterprises or personnel. Participation in or acceptance of illegal and irregular activities that affect the fairness of medical behavior will also be addressed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Strengthening Medical Ethics Education:<\/strong>
