Shanghai\u2019s Sunshine Medical Procurement All-in-One (SMPA) has issued a notification regarding an artificial joint volume-based procurement (VBP) tender, announcing a reduction in the ceiling price for non-winning bids to RMB 11,900 (USD 1,658). This move allows medical institutions to file online for non-winning products with prices above the new ceiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Implementation of VBP Results and Price Negotiations<\/strong>
Since July 2022, Shanghai has been implementing VBP results for artificial joints. Despite this, medical institutions are permitted to procure other artificial joint products through negotiations. The high price reminder for hip joint, knee joint product systems, and prosthetic joint components was initially set at RMB 19,000. The recent adjustment has seen the ceiling price lowered to RMB 11,900, marking a decrease of 37.36%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guangdong’s Comparative Ceiling Price and DRG\/DIP Payment Exceptions<\/strong>
In comparison, Guangdong has a lower ceiling price than Shanghai, with only the ceramic ceramic hip joint product system capped at RMB 11,900 being the highest. However, Guangdong has a unique exception in place.
