Thalassemia, a disease with high incidence rates in Thailand, poses a significant challenge to the nation’s healthcare system. This strategic partnership will assess the comparative scope, efficiency, outcomes, and health economic benefits of high-throughput sequencing technology-based Thalassemia gene screening against traditional methods. Additionally, the collaboration will extend to clinical trial cooperation for gene therapy in Thalassemia within Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thalassemia and sickle anemia are widespread in Thailand, affecting approximately 1% of the population and making it a critical public health issue. It is estimated that 30% to 40% of Thailand’s population are carriers of the Thalassemia gene, which can result in over 60 different genotypes with clinical manifestations varying from asymptomatic to fatal.
