The study, which was approved in China in February 2020, marks a significant step forward in the development of this potential new treatment option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dual Targeting of IL-17A and IL-17F Dimers<\/strong><br>The drug under study can simultaneously target homologous dimers IL-17A-A and IL-17F-F, as well as heterodimers IL-17A-F. These dimers act on receptors IL-17RA and IL-17RC and are known to promote the expression of other pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, TNF \u03b1, IL-1 \u03b2, IL-20 family cytokines, GM-CSF, and effector proteins. This leads to the activation of neutrophils, macrophages, epithelial cells, and fibroblasts, playing a crucial role in the pathophysiology of many autoimmune diseases, including psoriasis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Market Competition and Regulatory Landscape<\/strong><br>In the China market, Novartis\u2019 Cosentyx (secukinumab) and Eli Lilly\u2019s Taltz (ixekizumab), both IL-17A products, have already been approved. Additionally, eight similar products from domestic firms have entered clinical development. Suncadia Bio\u2019s vunakizumab and Zhixiang Jintai Bi\u2019s xeligekimab are awaiting regulatory decisions.
