The Sichuan Provincial Healthcare Security Administration has released a notification regarding the inter-provincial alliance volume-based procurement (VBP) of oral implant systems, set to begin on January 11, 2023. This initiative aims to streamline the procurement process and ensure the availability of high-quality dental implant systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Details of the Procurement<\/strong>
Dental implant systems consist of one implant, one prosthetic base, and one accessory package. The systems are categorized into two product systems based on the implant material: the grade-four pure titanium implant product system and the titanium alloy implant product system. The initial intended procurement volume is calculated by accumulating 90% of the purchase demand of each product system in the first year, submitted by each participating medical institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Procurement Volumes and Pricing<\/strong>
The first year’s purchase demand for the fourth-level pure titanium implant product system is 2,494,956 sets, with an intended purchase quantity of 2,253,818 sets. For the titanium alloy implant product system, the first year’s procurement demand is 375,087 sets, with an intended procurement quantity of 339,335 sets. The maximum effective bidding price for both the fourth-level pure titanium and titanium alloy implant product systems is RMB 2,380 (USD 342) per set. The procurement scale for this category is expected to reach nearly RMB 6 billion (USD 861.8 million) in the first year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
