This new delivery device aims to enhance supply and meet the needs of more patients in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Product Specifications<\/strong><br>The tirzepatide multi-dose prefilled pen offers four fixed doses, with each administered weekly. It is available in four specifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2.4 mL: 10 mg (each pen contains 4 doses of 0.6 mL: 2.5 mg)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.4 mL: 20 mg (each pen contains 4 doses of 0.6 mL: 5 mg)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.4 mL: 30 mg (each pen contains 4 doses of 0.6 mL: 7.5 mg)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2.4 mL: 40 mg (each pen contains 4 doses of 0.6 mL: 10 mg)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dosing Recommendations<\/strong><br>The recommended starting dose is 2.5 mg administered subcutaneously once weekly. After four weeks, the dose should be increased to 5 mg. If further improvement in glycemic control or weight management is needed, the dose may be increased in 2.5 mg increments at intervals of at least four weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mechanism of Action<\/strong><br>Tirzepatide is the first and only once-weekly glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP)\/glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist approved globally for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and long-term weight management. The drug selectively binds to and activates the GIP and GLP-1 receptors, enhancing first- and second-phase insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner while reducing glucagon levels. It also improves insulin sensitivity and delays gastric emptying.
