The Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, along with 13 other bureaus, has issued a local adaptation of the “Key Points for Correcting Unhealthy Practices in the Field of Pharmaceutical Procurement and Sales and Medical Services in 2024,” which was originally published by the National Health Commission (NHC) and supported by 14 ministries in May this year. Shanghai’s version introduces three new items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government will conduct inspections of large hospitals, focusing on the construction of professional conduct organizations, professional conduct education and training, professional conduct work mechanisms, professional conduct hot issues, and public welfare security. The aim is to identify potential links that may harm the public interest, rectify behaviors of public hospitals that deviate from the public welfare orientation, and promote high-quality development of public hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The government will clarify the industry’s bottom line and strictly implement the “Implementation Rules for the Nine Code of Conduct for Clean and Honest Conduct of Medical Institution Staff in Shanghai.” The implementation status will be part of daily supervision and inspection content, and any violations will be promptly discovered. Complaint and reporting channels will be streamlined, and complaint procedures will be established and improved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
