(NASDAQ: BIIB), based in the U.S., and Japan&#8217;s Eisai Co., Ltd. have announced that their Alzheimer\u2019s disease therapy, Leqembi (lecanemab), has received approval in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the treatment of patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) due to Alzheimer\u2019s disease (AD) and\/or mild AD dementia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leqembi is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting soluble and insoluble aggregates of amyloid-beta (A\u03b2), a key component of the amyloid plaques associated with AD. The therapy is designed to reduce both A\u03b2 protofibrils and plaques in the brain.
