Local media outlets report that Fosun International’s chairman, Guo Guangchang, announced at a business event in Shenzhen the establishment of a Greater Bay Area (GBA) headquarters for Fosun Pharma (HKG: 2196, SHA: 600196) in the Pingshan district of Shenzhen. This new site will serve as Fosun Pharma’s second global headquarters, with a focus on the development of innovative medicines.
According to the reports, Guo formalized the initiative by signing a contract with the local government of Pingshan district, signifying the official commencement of Fosun Pharma’s GBA HQ. The strategy includes the creation of an innovation ecosystem in Shenzhen, capitalizing on the city’s strategic position as a core hub within the GBA.
