Astana Genetic Center, a collaboration between China’s leading genomics company BGI Genomics Co., Ltd (SHE: 300676) and Kazakhstan’s Technopark Biogen, has officially commenced operations. The center, located within the Kazakhstan National Biotechnology Center, is well-equipped with state-of-the-art gene sequencing and genetic data analysis machinery, aiming to facilitate early disease diagnosis and treatment through genetic testing technology.
The establishment of Astana Genetic Center is expected to elevate the standards of disease prevention in Kazakhstan and Central Asia by offering a suite of genetic testing services. These services include non-invasive prenatal genetic testing, newborn screening, pre-implantation genetic testing for aneuploidies (PGT-A), and colorectal cancer screening, which will aid in local reproductive health and bolster tumor prevention and control initiatives.
Furthermore, the center is poised to contribute to academic exchange, foster research and application of gene testing in the region, and nurture local experts in the field of genetic testing. This joint venture signifies a significant step forward in advancing genomic research and its practical applications in healthcare, particularly in the Central Asian region.- Flcube.com
