The Shaanxi Public Resources Trading Center has released the “Inter-provincial Alliance (regions, Corps) Orthodontic Brackets Volume-based Procurement (VBP) Notice.” This initiative aims to conduct volume-based procurement activities for orthodontic brackets in several provinces and autonomous regions, including Shaanxi, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Anhui, Henan, Guangxi, Hainan, Guizhou, Tibet, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xinjiang, and others. Manufacturers are required to register and file their products from October 20 to October 28.
Procurement Details
The VBP round involves orthodontic brackets, bracket-free invisible braces, and buccal tubes that are available on the market in China and have medical device approvals. These products are categorized into different groups for price bidding. Ordinary metal brackets, ordinary ceramic brackets, self-locking metal brackets, self-locking ceramic brackets, and bracket-free appliances are divided into Groups A and B for price bidding. Buccal tubes will be subject to price negotiations.
Bidding Process
Products will be sorted in descending order based on the procurement demand from inter-provincial alliance medical institutions. Manufacturers covered by the first 70% (inclusive) of the cumulative procurement demand for each product category will be selected as Group A bidding units, while the rest will be Group B bidding units. If the number of manufacturers with valid filings in Group A bidding units is less than five, they will be supplemented according to the procurement demand of inter-provincial alliance medical institutions in descending order until the number reaches five. If fewer than five manufacturers apply for the same product category, all of them will enter Group A.
