On September 17, an HIV precision medicine standardization project was initiated in Beijing. The project, led by the National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and the China National Health Association (CNHA) and sponsored by Gilead Sciences, aims to enhance the quality of HIV outpatient services in hospitals. The initiative seeks to improve the clinical research capabilities and diagnosis and treatment levels of doctors by establishing standardized HIV diagnosis and treatment procedures and standards, and to build a sustainable and optimized service system for HIV patients.
Project Scope and Objectives
The project will initially cover 150 institutions across the country. These institutions will receive academic guidance from the NCID and CNHA and will engage in diverse training and academic exchanges. The goal is to enhance their capabilities in clinical research base construction, scientific research, standardized clinical diagnosis and treatment, patient education, and full-time medical staff support.
Future Outlook
The initiation of the HIV precision medicine standardization project marks a significant step in improving the quality of care for HIV patients in China. By establishing standardized procedures and fostering collaboration among key stakeholders, the project aims to create a more effective and sustainable healthcare system for HIV treatment and management.-Fineline Info & Tech
