The National Health Commission (NHC) of China has recently announced the reinforcement of national and provincial mechanisms aimed at securing the supply of drugs that are in short supply. This initiative is designed to strengthen and refine the monitoring, early warning, and graded response system for drugs that are scarce, ensuring the medication needs of the population are met.
The NHC has convened a full session on the national linkage mechanism, leveraging the national public medical and health institution drug shortage information reporting system for ongoing monitoring and early warning. Regular updates are also being implemented. Concurrently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is dynamically monitoring the production and supply of drugs that are clinically essential and prone to scarcity.
Furthermore, the National Healthcare Security Administration (NHSA) is keeping a regular check on drug prices and distribution, focusing on the National List of In-Shortage Drugs and the Key Monitoring List of Clinically Necessary Scarcity-Vulnerable Drugs. The NHSA is also dedicated to carrying out basic information labeling and updating data on drug shortages.- Flcube.com
