The National Health Commission (NHC), National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and National Disease Control and Prevention Administration have jointly issued the “Measures for the Management of National Health Emergency Teams,” a directive aimed at bolstering and standardizing the management of national health emergency teams to enhance emergency response capabilities and levels of preparedness.
The national health emergency teams constitute a vital segment of China’s medical and health emergency response framework. As outlined in the regulations, these teams are primarily categorized into emergency medical rescue, major epidemic medical emergency, sudden poisoning event disposal, nuclear and radiation emergency health emergency, traditional Chinese medicine emergency medical treatment, and sudden acute infectious disease prevention and control.
The document stipulates specific operational requirements for each team. The emergency medical rescue team, for instance, should be capable of performing 20 injury control surgeries daily, handling 200 emergency and outpatient cases per day, establishing 20 observation beds, and focusing on enhancing trauma management capabilities, with a 14-day self-protection capacity. The medical emergency response team for major epidemics must meet the benchmarks of completing laboratory tests for over 1000 people daily, managing 200 outpatient cases per day, and possessing the capability to respond to more than 5 severe infectious disease patients with isolation, transportation, and epidemiological investigation skills, while achieving a 10-day self-protection duration.- Flcube.com
