The National Health Commission (NHC) has announced the selection of 100 counties (cities, districts), including Beijing’s Haidian district, as national demonstration areas for the integration of medical and elderly care services. Additionally, 99 institutions, including Yuecheng Senior Living, have been designated as national demonstration institutions for this integrated care model. Shandong province has been recognized as a national demonstration province for medical and elderly care integration.
This initiative is part of the NHC’s strategic plan to enhance the coordination and quality of healthcare services for the elderly. The “Work Plan for Demonstration Projects of Medical and Elderly Care Integration” and the “Notice on Launching the First Batch of National Demonstration Counties (Cities, Districts) and Demonstration Institutions for Medical and Elderly Care Integration” were released in April 2022, outlining the goals and framework for these demonstration projects.
