Tencent’s WeDoctor Teams Up with Guiyang for Digital Health Community Initiative

The municipal government of Guiyang has entered into a strategic partnership with WeDoctor Holdings Ltd, a subsidiary of Chinese internet conglomerate Tencent Corporate Venture Capital (HKG: 0700), to establish a digital health community and develop a national demonstration zone in Guiyang. The collaboration also includes the launch of a health industry fund aimed at steering the digital health industry chain in Guiyang and Gui’an, with the goal of creating a Southwest Cluster Area for the digital health sector.

Under the terms of the agreement, WeDoctor and Guiyang’s government will co-develop a digital general hospital, marking the beginning of the “Guiyang Digital Health Community.” The initiative will involve the gradual rollout of a unified “four cloud” platform across the city, encompassing cloud pharmacy, cloud inspection, cloud insurance, and cloud management. This move is expected to lead to the construction of a comprehensive digital and intensive medical service system.

The partnership also envisions the creation of a compact medical consortium and specialized alliances, which are intended to advance the reform of family doctors’ payment systems based on disease types and patient volume. It further aims to enhance the digital management of chronic and specialized diseases and shift the healthcare focus from disease treatment to a more holistic approach centered on people’s health.- Flcube.com
