Servier and Dana-Farber Launch SHINEDoc Program, Enroll First PhD Student

French pharmaceutical company Servier and the US-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute have announced the start of the Servier-funded SHINEDoc program in the United States, with the enrollment of the first PhD student from Dana-Farber. The program, which is set to begin this month, marks a significant step in fostering innovation in medical research.

Focus on Training and International Collaboration
The initial phase of the SHINEDoc program is designed to develop new technologies and characterize new therapeutic targets, with a focus on training one PhD student in basic research within oncology and neurological diseases. Over the course of three years, the enrolled PhD student will join an international community of doctoral students and postdocs, sharing knowledge, developing soft skills, and building an international network.

The SHINEDoc Community and Its Impact
The SHINEDoc program, which stands for “Servier Highlighting Innovation through its NEtwork of PhD students and Post-Docs,” is a dynamic international community comprising more than 70 PhD and postdoctoral students working in Servier laboratories or in collaboration with Servier’s partners. The program’s implementation in China last month, involving Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), highlights its global reach and commitment to advancing medical science.-Fineline Info & Tech
