The National Healthcare Commission (NHC) has issued the “Guiding Opinions on Further Promoting Mutual Recognition of Inspection and Testing Results in Medical Institutions,” a document designed to encourage the standardization and sharing of medical inspection results across China.
Targets for Medical Consortia by 2025
The NHC has set clear targets for the integration of medical consortia, including urban medical groups and county-level medical consortia. By the end of 2025, these consortia are expected to achieve mutual recognition of all projects among their member medical institutions, with over 200 projects recognized within each city. This initiative aims to streamline medical services and reduce redundancy in testing.
Expansion to Provincial and Regional Levels by 2027 and Beyond
The plan continues with ambitious goals for broader recognition between medical institutions. By the end of 2027, over 300 mutual recognition projects are targeted to be established within each province. Additionally, key regions such as Beijing Tianjin Hebei, the Yangtze River Delta, and Chengdu Chongqing are expected to have over 200 mutual recognition projects in place. This expansion will facilitate more efficient healthcare delivery and enhance the consistency of medical testing standards.
National Harmonization and System Establishment by 2030
By 2030, the NHC envisions a further improved and perfected national mutual recognition mechanism. The level of homogeneity in inspection and testing is expected to be significantly enhanced, with a basic system for sharing and exchanging results established. This will lead to common inspection and testing results being shared and recognized across different regions and medical institutions, ultimately benefiting patients through more accessible and consistent healthcare services.-Fineline Info & Tech
