Yunnan Province Increases Pediatric Medical Service Prices for Children Under 6

The Yunnan Provincial Healthcare Security Administration and the Health Commission of Yunnan Province have issued a notification to implement a policy that allows for increased pricing on certain pediatric medical services for children under the age of 6 in public medical institutions, effective from October 10, 2024. This policy aims to adjust the prices of medical services to better reflect the specialized care required for young patients.

Under the new policy, public medical institutions that admit children under the age of 6 will be permitted to charge an additional 10% for general examination and treatment services (covering 50 items), an additional 25% for clinical system diagnosis and treatment services (covering 66 items), an additional 30% for vascular intervention diagnosis and treatment services, an additional 30% for surgical treatment services, and an additional 25% for traditional Chinese medicine services (covering 48 items). These increases are applied on top of the current maximum price limits for medical service items. Services specifically named for children are not subject to these additional charges. Medical services that are already covered by the basic medical insurance fund will continue to be included in the medical insurance payment scope and will be reimbursed according to the existing medical insurance payment categories.- Flcube.com
