Sinovation Medical’s SinoLITT System and Fiber Kit Gain NMPA Approval for Epilepsy Treatment

Sinovation (Beijing) Medical Technology Co., Ltd has announced that its in-house developed magnetic resonance monitoring semiconductor laser therapy equipment, the SinoLITT System, and disposable laser fiber kit have been approved by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) for use in laser treatment of local lesions in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy, where clear epileptogenic areas or epilepsy transmission pathways are present.

SinoLITT System: Advanced Features and Capabilities
The SinoLITT system is composed of a device host, accessories, surgical planning software, and a disposable magnetic resonance-compatible laser fiber kit. It boasts an optimized magnetic resonance temperature imaging algorithm and advanced tissue ablation evaluation algorithm. These features enable intelligent surgery, including preoperative pathway and ablation range planning, real-time monitoring of intraoperative intracranial temperature, and calculation and evaluation of tissue ablation area. The system is designed to achieve the effect of ablation of lesions without damaging surrounding normal brain tissue.

Global Context and Market Potential
Medtronic’s Visualase system and Monteris’s NeuroBlate system, which have been approved to treat brain lesions in the US, are not yet available in China. The approval of Sinovation’s SinoLITT System and disposable laser fiber kit by the NMPA marks a significant advancement in the treatment options for drug-resistant epilepsy in China, potentially offering a new standard of care for patients.-Fineline Info & Tech
