China-based Zhaoke Ophthalmology Limited (HKG: 6622) announced that its innovative product, TONO-i, has received a medical device registration certificate from China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). The TONO-i is a non-contact, lightweight, and portable tonometer designed for painless, infection-risk-free intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement without anesthesia.
Product Overview
As a key component of Zhaoke’s glaucoma product portfolio, TONO-i aims to improve treatment compliance and management outcomes for glaucoma patients. It addresses the low diagnosis and treatment rates of glaucoma in China by enabling physicians to accurately monitor changes in patients’ IOP.
Development and Distribution
TONO-i was developed by South Korea’s C&V Tech. Zhaoke Ophthalmology entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with C&V Tech in November 2022, granting Zhaoke the rights to register, import, promote, distribute, market, and sell the product in Greater China.
