Shanghai-based medical equipment manufacturer United Imaging Healthcare (UIH, SHA: 688271) has announced that it has received marketing approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its uMR Jupiter 5T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. This product is recognized as the world’s first ultra-high frequency (UHF) system approved for systemic application, marking a significant advancement in the field of medical imaging.
The uMR Jupiter 5T stands out as the inaugural product to feature an eight-channel, full-body multi-emission control system within an ultra-high magnetic field intensity MRI system. This cutting-edge technology delivers enhanced imaging capabilities, offering higher resolution and an improved signal-to-noise ratio. These advancements allow for clearer imaging of complex anatomical regions such as the heart, abdomen, and pelvis, which have traditionally been challenging to image effectively under UHF conditions. Notably, this device had previously received marketing approval in China in September 2022.- Flcube.com
