Sino Medical Sciences Technology Inc., (SHA: 688108) a Chinese medical device company, has announced that it has received marketing approvals in Pakistan for two of its cardiovascular products: the SC HONKYTONK coronary balloon dilation catheter and the NC ROCKSTAR non-compliant balloon dilation catheter. These approvals mark a further expansion into the international market for the company.
The SC HONKYTONK coronary balloon dilation catheter is a fast exchange (Rx type) device used for dilating narrow segments of coronary arteries or narrow areas of bypass grafts to enhance myocardial perfusion. This product, which includes a TIP head, balloon protective sheath, balloon, balloon inner and outer tubes, and a metal catheter, features a platinum iridium alloy imaging ring within the balloon. Prior to this approval, the product had already gained marketing authorizations in China, the US, Thailand, Taiwan, India, and Uzbekistan.
The NC ROCKSTAR non-compliant balloon dilation catheter is designed for balloon catheter dilation in autologous coronary arteries or bypass stenosis to improve myocardial perfusion in atherosclerotic patients. It is also used for post-delivery expansion of balloon-expandable stents, including bare metal and drug-eluting stents.
