NMPA Approves SonoScape and Acoustic Life’s Intravascular Ultrasound Products

The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has approved Chinese firms SonoScape Medical Corp’s intravascular ultrasound diagnostic equipment and Acoustic Life Science Co., Ltd’s disposable intravascular ultrasound diagnostic catheter for marketing as innovative products. The two products are used together for the ultrasonic imaging inspection of coronary artery intravascular lesions.

Innovative Features of the Equipment
The intravascular ultrasound diagnostic equipment features full digital signal transmission and single-element mechanical rotary design. Digital transmission is realized between the catheter controller and the imaging host, which improves the integration and stability of the system, lowers the cost, and reduces image noise.

Disposable Catheters and High-Frequency Imaging
Disposable intravascular ultrasound diagnostic catheters, on the PMN-PT high-frequency single crystal composite material transducer, allow for domestic production of the high-performance high-frequency transducer, improved image resolution, and optimized image quality. The catheters feature a glue-free layer prepared by steam plating with a thickness ≤ 15 μm, enhancing the precision and reliability of the imaging process.

Clinical Benefits and Applications
The product set utilizes ultrasonic imaging with high frequency, wide bandwidth, and high sensitivity, which can realize coronary artery scanning imaging and vessel diameter measurement. This technology helps doctors judge the severity and nature of lesions, and aids in improving the understanding of coronary artery lesions and guiding interventional treatment.-Fineline Info & Tech
