The 2022 Taihu Bay Future Healthcare Conference was held in Wuxi City, Jiangsu province, China, last week. The event marked the launch of the Wuxi Intellectual Property (IP) Protection Center. The center already has 52 contracted biomedical projects with a cumulative investment of over RMB30 billion.
Biomedical Parks and Platforms
In addition to the IP protection center, six biomedical industrial parks were licensed, and three biomedical platforms were inaugurated at the conference. The event also hosted the signing of multiple fund-raising agreements for healthcare sector investment. Notably, a biomedical fund of RMB5 billion was jointly established by Guolian Group, AstraZeneca, and China International Capital Corporation Ltd.
National IP Centers
The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has approved several new IP centers across the country in recent months. These centers are set up to support the development of high-quality IP-generating industries based on local company activity. The Wuxi Protection Center is reportedly focused on quick collaborative IP protection for local Internet of Things and intelligent manufacturing industries.-Fineline Info & Tech
