Departments including the Department of Industry and Information Technology, Health Commission, Healthcare Security Administration, and Medical Products Administration of Guangdong Province have jointly issued a notice. This notice unveils the first batch of approved innovative drugs and medical devices in Guangdong Province, featuring 107 innovative products. This initiative aims to deepen the integration of technological and industrial innovation in the biopharmaceutical sector, accelerating the R&D, industrialization, and clinical adoption of innovative medical products.
Policy Details
Under the “Action Plan for Further Promoting High-Quality Development of Guangdong’s Biopharmaceutical Industry,” public medical institutions are mandated to convene Pharmacy & Medical Device Committee meetings at least quarterly (or as needed) to review the procurement of innovative products. Private, foreign-funded, joint-venture, and joint-stock hospitals are encouraged to follow suit. Institutions are also required to incorporate eligible innovative drugs and devices into formularies based on clinical needs.-Fineline Info & Tech
